UPDATE: Multiple County and Municipal Orders Issued to Keep Public Health Restrictions in Place in Some Wisconsin Communities

In the wake of the Wisconsin Supreme Court’s decision striking down Wisconsin’s Safer at Home Emergency Order, numerous counties and municipalities in Wisconsin have issued orders maintaining all or portions of the public health restrictions that were in place in Wisconsin as of yesterday. In some cases, county and municipal were already in place. News outlets report that among the localities where orders are in place are Brown, Dane, Milwaukee, Kenosha, and Rock Counties, and the City of Racine.

Wisconsin businesses should consult local resources, such as official County websites, to confirm what restrictions if any are applicable to their operations. Businesses should also consider federal employment safety regulations, potential litigation risks, and plain common sense in developing operation plans that address the current risk of continuing COVID-19 virus transmission.
