WisDOT Announces NEW Quarterly Training Program with Live and Livestream Options: All Dealer Licensees Encouraged to Listen In

This morning, WisDOT issued a Plain Dealing Special Edition e-newsletter, announcing its new voluntary dealer training program. The no-cost 4-hour program is designed for dealer owners and representatives interested in expanding their knowledge of dealer business practices. Topics will include the following:

  • reassigning titles and complete odometer disclosures;

  • completing the Wisconsin Buyer’s Guide;

  • properly advertising vehicles;

  • completing the MV11 and purchase contracts; and

  • electronically processing titles and issuing temporary plates.

The first set of training dates announced by WisDOT are:

  • Thursday, July 15th 2021

  • Friday, October 15th 2021

  • Tuesday, January 18th 2022

Pre-registration is required. The bulletin advises that dealers with questions, or seeking to register for training, should email the dealer training team at dealertraining@dot.wi.gov. Please include your dealer name and the names of those attending training.

Kudos to Michael Domke and the Dealer and Agent Section for adding this education opportunity for Wisconsin dealers. I encourage dealers licensees and key employees in sales, financing, and back-office processing to sign up for this training, either live or by livestream. Also, keep an eye out for future quarterly training dates, which undoubtedly will include new guidance or points of enforcement emphasis.

If you did not receive the emailed Plain Dealing Special Edition e-newsletter, then you likely are not signed up to receive this important compliance training tool. Sign up here to receive the Plain Dealing e-newsletter, as well as PARTNER Press, focused on title and registration processing issues.
