Wisconsin Loosens Safer at Home Restrictions on Retail Shopping

Yesterday, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers’ Department of Health Services issued Emergency Order #36, Interim Order to Turn the Dial, permitting nonessential retail stores to offer in-person shopping for up to five customers at a time, as long as such businesses have an entrance from the outside. Stores relying exclusively on mall or interconnected passage entrances may not offer in-person retail under this new order. Face coverings are strongly encouraged for staff and customers, and social distancing requirements addressed in previous orders must be observed at all times. The Interim Order is effective immediately. The current Safer at Home Order is currently in effect through Tuesday, May 26, at 8 a.m. A complete collection of the Governor’s Executive Orders can be found at the Official Website for Governor Tony Evers.
